In mid-July, the PURPLEGREEN team embarked on an inspiring and educational visit to the Siemens Gamesa wind turbine testing center in Høvsøre, Denmark, with the aim of exploring the latest innovations embodied in the SG7.0-170 7 MW wind turbines. These turbines are the latest model from the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform, designed for medium to strong winds, and they represent significant advancements in sustainable energy technologies in recent years. Witnessing them in operation and at scale in a real environment was both an exciting and educational experience.
In addition to visiting the testing centre, PURPLEGREEN representatives met with representatives from Siemens Energy. During the meeting, they discussed potential future collaborations on projects developed by the PURPLEGREEN group in Latvia, with a particular focus on high-voltage substation construction and battery energy storage system projects.
This visit highlighted the importance of innovation and collaboration in the development of the renewable energy sector. We eagerly anticipate the opportunities that lie ahead and are ready to continue our partnership with Siemens to build a greener future together. After the visit, the PURPLEGREEN team concluded that there are three things one could watch endlessly: the flow of a river, the twinkling of stars, and the rotation of wind turbines…

The implementation of alternative sustainable fuels into everyday life will change the perception of infrastructure and transportation, also helping to reach carbon neutral goals together. PurpleGreen has thought about every part of this cycle.
Power grid network transmits the electricity produced by PurpleGreen projects:
A) For production of Hydrogen (H2);
B) Into batteries for storage;
C) For end use (households, production facilities, public infrastructure, transportation).
With the implementation of batteries, grid network balancing and electricity trading is provided by PurpleGreen, expanding the range of our services.
Ammonia (NH3) is used for end use (alternative fuel, production of fertilizers). Ammonia (NH3) can be transported through EU H2 pipeline or cargo ship for further destinations, as well as transported with cargo trucks to nearest H2 stations.
We use agricultural land plots for installing solar and wind farms. Land plots left out are used for agricultural purposes. With PurpleGreen projects, landowners and farmers get paid for land lease as well as harvested products.
Produced electricity is:
A) transmitted to grid network;
B) stored in to batteries, later transmitted to grid network;
C) in combination with added water used for electrolysis process.
Hydrogen (H2) can be transported through EU H2 pipeline or Provaris H2 cargo ship for further destinations, as well as transported with cargo trucks to nearest H2 stations.
